My name is Petra, I am 27 years old and I am a mummy to a little girl who is getting bigger each day with an incredible pace, even though she is allergic to milk, eggs, nuts, and apparently to most grains, but only if she eats them herself. Weird stuff, that we need to cope with.
She is almost 9 months old now and if you would see her, you would never think that she is allergic to that much common food ingredients. Because she is a big, strong, and happy child.
It all started on the last day of 2015 when she was diagnosed with milk and eggs allergy. Because I was breastfeeding and wanted to continue I was forced to go on a diet without eggs and milk. Now I can tell that this is quite a hard work that comes with a lot of tears and takes a lot of energy.
Because I had quite a few problems finding simple and good recipes for every day cooking, I needed to adapt some well known recipes, remember old classics that I can still have, and invent some totally new ones, so that they would not harm my baby.
Since I had a lot of problems finding sites like this to help me with my new dietary obstacles, I decided to start one myself.
I decided to help other women who are struggling with the same or similar problem and put everything online. This blog is definitely not just for people who are struggling with allergies to eggs, milk and nuts because I can easily say: this is good stuff! Not necessarily and always healthy, but tasty and nutritious. If you are breastfeeding, you know exactly, that it is not that time in your life, when you have to watch your weight, because your child trims every gram of fat off of your hips as soon as you put one on. It is the time of your life, when you need to eat like a work horse.
For now I can say that this is blog for people with food allergies and all sorts of different diets. I don’t know where the wind will take me after I stop breastfeeding, but for now, I think this is something I had to do on my own and can help others sharing my experience.
